Holidays Based on the Ashby Canal

Midland Mallard are located on the Ashby-de-la-Zouch Canal or more commonly known as Ashby Canal at Market Bosworth marina. You can access all areas of the Canal network by joining the Coventry Canal at Marston Junction at the start of the Ashby canal. We also cover canal boat hire on the Coventry canal and are based close to the Coventry Basin. Also provided for each canal boat holiday is our flexible six berth Narrowboat (Hotel Boat) which has a luxury, well equipped flexible layout. We provide Wi-Fi on our canal boats. We are available for groups of two to 6 people which are steered by you our customer following some training. What things are there to do on the Ashby Canal?

You may wish to stay in the historic town of Market Bosworth, the final battle scene for King Richard III. Market Bosworth is just a few short minutes walk from the Marina. The Ashby canal runs through the old battle lines and there is a visitor centre which is also free. Why not check out the historic steam railway which runs parallel? You could meander through the SSSI countryside a (Site of Special Scientific Interest) which boasts a great many species of wildlife.
